Independence Weekend 2022!

For the third year in a row, Red Tenor Saxophone is performing in Merchants Square at Colonial Williamsburg during Independence Weekend.  Crowds have been generous and supportive, and we appreciate the comments and have enjoyed meeting visitors from across the nation and around the world.

This year, Red Tenor Saxophone is donating 10% of Independence Weekend contributions to Disabled American Veterans, 440 Merrimac Trail, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185.  Thank you for your generosity—we will report soon on the final tally.  Have a safe and meaningful holiday!

Also . . . fifty-one years ago today (July 3) is the untimely date when Jim Morrison met “The End”.  Red Tenor Saxophone will introduce “Light My Fire” to his repertoire in this evening’s performance.  It’s true, Jim did not write this song, but it is the song most widely associated with The Doors, and it is one of Jim’s best vocal performances, on record and in the numerous live recordings available for viewing and listening.
